What makes DermoGlo MicroRenew so effectiv

Delicate spring cherry blossoms with massage stones in a zen spa atmosphereDermoGlo MicroRenew is made of millions of ultra- fine fibres 20 times finer than a strand of silk. The unique wedge shape cross-section of each fibre follows every contour of your skin surface to break down and lift off dirt, dead skin cells, sebum and bacteria.

The advanced scientific manufacturing process also creates a positive charge in the towel. Dirt particles and bacteria are negatively charged, thus causing them to be attracted to the towel like magnet. So much so that it eliminates up to 99.9% of dirt and bacteria on your skin.

Blah blah blah…. that’s the whole info given by DermoGlo. Going at $36 per face towel, this is one helluva luxury cloth for those who can afford it, or think they can afford it.

Anyway, I had some money to spare and just thought to give this a try since I was so taken in by the manufacturer’s claims and testimonials (don’t know if its true or not).

Here’s my reviews after 2-3 weeks of usage:  9/10.

Packaging – When I first got the towel in my mail, I have to say I am impressed by the clean and professional packaging, nothing in cheap, flimsy plastic ziploc, only good quality plastic.

Product – Shape magazine did not give top reviews on DermoGlo’s towel for for being the softest material for nothing. Truly indeed, this light as air, soft as silk towel dries easily and quickly. Wringing water out from the DermoGlo towel is an ease; unlike my conventional normal face towel which feels like granite against my soft dainty palms every time I wring it dry.

With the towel being so soft and light now takes me to another level of doubt on the manufacturer’s claims. After all, if it doesn’t feel and look grainy, how can it scrub off my little blackheads and end-of-day facial grime? Hence, here’s $36 taken to the test:

1st use (Monday) – Skin feels smoother after using the towel, but you have to do so according to the instructions of usage. Wrap the towel in your finger/s and rub the towel in circular motions around your face, each time, using new sections of the towel. Do not spend more than 5 seconds on each section of your skin so as not to over exfoliate. Amount of pressure applied onto the skin also determines how hard you prefer the exfoliation to be.

2nd use (Wednesday)– I alternate DermoGlo with my conventional towel and the after results difference are noticeable. With my conventional towel, the day’s surface grime just seems to be wiped off my skin’s surface. It takes off sticky sweat, but that’s about all. With DermoGlo it is more than just sticky sweat removed. Skin feels like as if it had been through a scrub wash because it feel squeaky clean as if I had used my grainy St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Now, I have to stress that if possible, I’d rather not go through a face wash with facial cleanser because the lazy me means I would have to bun my hair up and put on dual hairbands to ensure that no fine hairs sticks out and get wet after all that water splashing at the sink. Somehow, no matter how much I try to bun my hair up and keep the fine hairs from straying, I’d still have some wet ends and I hate to go to bed with damp hair.

DermoGlo makes that a thing of history for me because I need not have to bend over the sink and wash off my facial cleanser. I could just dampen the towel and wash my face with it while watching my favourite 9pm drama on TV.

3rd use (Friday)– This final test got me bought over finally. I woke up this morning over a spoilt alarm clock and ran late for work. As such, I did what I usually wouldn’t do: go to work un-showered with face unwashed. Needless to say, the whole day was awful because I can’t help but kept touching my face to feel that there was this kinda invisible layer of grime on my face that no amount of rubbing would remove it. In fact, during lunch I peered into my pocket mirror and found quite aplenty *blackheads on my chin! It’s gonna take me the whole night just to squeeze and remove these blackheads on my chin by the massive numbers of blackheads spotted, I thought to myself.

Somehow, it didn’t occur to me to use DermoGlo until I got home. Hey, I paid $36 on this face cloth and this is a good time to test its wonders once more. If it works better than what I am to expect, I’ll be sold.

True enough, I was sold. I dare say, ALL my little blackheads on my chin got scrubbed off effortlessly just with DermoGlo and water in less than 5 minutes! I’d have to go through my usual Ginvera Marvel Gel to have such an effect but this towel is just cloth and water; imagine how much money I’d saved on peeling gels! But nothing beats best of DermoGlo actually removing a stubborn white head at the hard-to-reach left side of my nose which I had previously tried ALL ways to remove without avail.

After sales customer service – Excellent. They reply your query instantaneously and give you the answers you want instead of being wishy washy like some other sellers.

Cons – This would only be considered as a Con point if you do not moisturise your skin with a good hydrating moisturiser AFTER each use with DermoGlo. After my second try, I experienced further dehydrated skin to my otherwise oily but fairly dehydrated skin. I wrote to DermoGlo and J.Koh, entrepreneur of DermoGlo, strongly advised that good hydration is always advised for post DermoGlo usage. As Ms. Koh recommended, try using hydraters containing hyaluronic acid serum which works to penetrate the epidermal layers of the skin to supply moisture to the skin. I’m still on my DR WU Intensive Hydrating Serum With Hyaluronic Acid sample from Fr3b and so far, I’m glowing on both outside and within!

*Blackheads= works best to noticeably remove the flaky types of blackheads (usually removable with peeling gels like Marvel Gel or a good pore/nose pack). Does not work to remove blackheads that needs to be manually squeezed out for removal.
